A Word of Encouragement...

I would like to take a minute this morning and say a few words of praise to those Christian women who choose to continue fighting the good fight. Through every struggle, small and large, you refuse to give up. That is not to say that you do not have your down times and maybe even cry a little (or a lot), but when it is all said and done, you are still standing in your position, ready to do your duty. And you know the Lord is standing there with you.
Bless your heart! And may God bless all you do.

There are times when struggles seem to get the best of me and I feel that I do not even want to turn to prayer. I know that God's Word has not changed. Therefore I still "must" do what I know I "should" do. That is a hard fact sometimes, especially when it feels as what I've been doing just doesn't seem to help or change anything. There are times when I must make myself pick up that Bible or "Biblically based" self help book and look for guidance. My Bible gets the most use, but another book that always puts me in my place is "Created to Be His Help Meet" by Debi Pearl. This book is completely biblically based and the writer is "blunt" to put it nicely.

I would like to share just a piece of Debi Pearl's wisdom.

"A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones" Proverbs 12:4
A good woman is a crown to her husband. She can make a mediocre man be as honored as one wearing a crown. A good woman could be married to a man who is a poor example of a father and husband. He may be selfish and self-centered, possibly not even honest, yet because she is submissive and honoring towards him, he treats her with kindness. People look at their relationship and think he must be a good man since he has a good woman and because they seem to be happy together.
You may be saying, "Why should she carry the load and make a lazy, impatient, selfish man look good?" Why should she not? By being a crown to her husband, she is raising children who will rise up and call her blessed. By the time they are teens, they will know their dad is something much less than he should be, but they will honor him because of the example of their mother. By being a crown to her husband, she is winning his love and appreciation, thus she gets treated much better than if she stood against him. And, by being a prudent woman in how she uses the meager funds given to her, she is gaining a comfortable place to raise her family. In the final analysis, she is dong exactly what God says will cause her husband to come to God. And most of all, she is bringing honor to god by fulfilling her calling as a help meet. In the end, people who know her will know the truth.

The Future...

Things are still more than crazy here, but I wanted to give an update for those of you who still actually visit this site ;) Steven started a new job yesterday(so things are already better for me, ha, ha!) as a mechanic that does just about anything needed doing. He was so excited. He is not a person who does well sitting around at home. And I have my home back to myself again. The future plans for me are this: I am working really hard to get the kids ready to go into the small public school in the area. This was not my first choice, but I think it is best for everyone. They will start in the fall. I will going back to school, Lord willing. I always leave that up in the air because it seems many times, things just don't work out for me to be able to go. I enjoy school very much, but I will admit, I am not sure I am going to enjoy being around those "wonderful" teenagers again! I don't do foolishness very well. In any case, that is the plan. So, if you have an extra moment during your prayers, please include us.

Now for some fun news- we all went camping this past Friday and Saturday at the San Angelo state park. It was quite an exciting adventure! When we arrived, we were informed that the information on the internet was not correct and there would be no microwave in the cabin. Also, no fires of any kind were allowed! They are on a very, very strict burn ban. So our first question was, What are we going to eat?! We didn't worry too much about it right then and decided to go check out the lake. Another surprise- when they say the lake is low, they mean the lake is low! We were able to walk down the boat ramp, into the area that should have been covered with water, about 150 to 250 feet away from the boat ramp to get to any water. The good news was that the fish just had nowhere to go, so we caught plenty! This was the first time we actually caught any fish since we started taking the kids camping(unless you include the little five inch thing we caught once before!). I still have not come across my camera since coming back(I haven't looked very hard). As soon as I do, I will try to get some pics on here.
